2007 Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Mona Fulghum! She is Lockhart Elementary's Teacher of the Year for 2007.

Ms. Fulghum is in her 31st year of teaching. The last 6 years have been teaching Pre-K here at Lockhart.

She earned her undergraduate and graduate degree from East Carolina University. She is also National Board Certified.

Ms. Fulghum was born and raised in Wilson, NC and has two children, 20 years old and 17 years old.

Why does Ms. Fulghum continue to teach even though she can retire? She says "I love my job! I just love teaching the children and watching them learn. And I really enjoy working with the parents."
